LAS VEGAS (KTNV)-It is a shame to see so much food thrown into the trash due to improper handling when grocery store shelves are empty and food prices are rising due to supply chain disruptions.

According to health inspectors, things thrown away at the two restaurants could have supported many families, but the food was damaged and unsafe.

Add in the four felons in the restaurant, the five felons in the dining car, and the rat infestation, and you can get the menu of the dirty restaurant this week.

Fiesta Filipina, located on Jones Boulevard and Desert Inn Road, scored a 39-point "C" rating in the October 21 inspection, avoiding work stoppages by only two points.

Foods with unsafe temperatures that must be thrown away include pork slabs cooked in a large container the day before.

Other foods that are left at room temperature for several hours include crispy pata, pinakbet, garlic in oil, pancit palabok ingredients, and caldereta. All of these must also be thrown away.

Raw fish is stored on top of cooked pork knuckle, and four gallons of beef blood is stored on top of lemon.

Multiple food containers stored in refrigerators and coolers that are contaminated include cooked fish, cooked vegetables, and chicken skewers.

A dirty towel and a dirty scouring pad are stored on a board that is draining liquid into the thawed meat in the sink.

Open staff drinks and mobile phones are stored on shelves above the ready-to-eat food.

Dirty household scissors were used to cut meat and were stored in a gap in a dirty table.

Knives and cutting boards are not properly cleaned and disinfected.

The floor under the hotline and the bottom of the equipment are very greasy and dirty, and they are full of old food.

The chicken is thawed at room temperature.

The person in charge does not know the signs and symptoms of the employee's illness.

The boss of Fiesta Filipina stated that she agreed with the results of the inspection and said:

"I admit the violation. We deserved it, but it was painful. When I saw C, my heart broke because I really worked hard to be the best in our restaurant business. I'm really sorry. My husband, I just passed away. I have been very depressed, spending time at home praying, wondering if the restaurant can continue to operate, and during my bereavement, my staff did not take care of their work. I was destroyed When I got back to work, I didn’t expect this. Now it’s hard to find employees and they don’t want to work even if they get a raise. I’m 72 years old and I wake up at 7:30 in the morning and work until the door closes at 8 pm. I don’t know what I have to do. I hope to be rechecked next week."

Ruyi Noodle Shops on the Las Vegas Strip and Harmon Avenue Hawaii Market are now the fourth felon of the dirty restaurant.

In the inspection on October 21, it was tied with the highest score of the week with a "C" score of 39 points.

Inspectors recorded improper hand washing of employees after handling dirty dishes and after meals.

Due to unsafe temperatures, two plates of cooked duck had to be thrown away.

No pre-cooked chicken was found in the refrigerator, and so was the tofu on the table.

The orange peel used for cooking touches the outside of the produce bag, and the trash can is stored next to the shelf of clean tableware.

An employee’s tamales are publicly stored on top of the customer’s food on the production table.

The can opener, deli slicer, cutting board and some dishes were dirty but kept clean.

There is no hand sanitizer in the bathroom.

Flies throughout the facility landed on food.

The cooking line is heavily contaminated by grease and old food accumulating under and above the equipment, walls and floors.

The thawed raw beef on the counter was wrapped in thin plastic, and blood dripped on the floor.

The handles of the rice cooker and the handles of the refrigerator, the door and the sides are all covered with grease and old food.

An unused crafting table is dirty, and there are still old food residues inside.

Squeeze bottles, spice container caps, and soap dispenser pumps are dirty and sticky, accumulating food and grease.

The produce is not cleaned before cutting.

The toilet was broken and covered by a black garbage bag. The toilet was dirty and had an unpleasant smell.

The inspector wrote, “Due to successive inspection failures in SNHD’s administrative procedures, the facility must participate in a supervisory meeting.”

The most recent health hazard that was about to close occurred on October 20 when a truck provided food to construction workers on Far Hills Ave. and Desert Foothills Drive.

Inspectors found large amounts of rodent droppings throughout the facility, located on a shelf directly above the food contact surface, near hamburgers and tortillas.

Chicken patties, raw bacon and cooked peppers are at unsafe temperatures and have to be thrown away.

Best Mobile Food Service was re-inspected on October 22 and received a zero-point "A" level.

Vegas King Commissary on Pioneer Avenue and Wynn Road is the base of many valley food trucks.

It was closed on October 20 due to an imminent health hazard-lacking adequate staff toilets and hand washing facilities. The only toilet available is a potty outside the entrance of the commissary.

Inspectors found that the commissary was closed and food truck operators could not enter. They needed plumbing toilets with hot and cold running water, sinks for disinfecting tableware and hand washing, and places to prepare food.

The inspector also noticed that there were many pigeons around the overly dirty grease bins and garbage bins.

The King Vegas commissary was re-inspected in October. 21 and get an "A" grade of 8 points.
