J Hope of BTS becomes the first Korean solo artist to win this album on Spotify | Pink Villa

According to a Spotify report on December 5, J Hope of the BTS recorded 8.477 million followers on December 3. He is the first Korean solo artist with more than 8 million fans. Among the 1,141 Korean artists registered on Spotify, he ranked fifth behind BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE and EXO.

After breaking the 7 million mark on August 21, 1 million was added in 105 days, an average increase of about 10,000 per day. J Hope has shown amazing potential and can maintain its top spot for 2 years and 8 months. 

Previously, together with J Hope, members RM and Jin sold a total of 9.9 billion KRW of HYBE stock from October to early November. Jin sold 16,000 shares of HYBE at 302,688 ₩ per share on October 19, and J Hope sold 5,601 shares at 333,063 ₩ per share on October 22. Jin's sales are 4.8 billion ₩, and J Hope's sales are 1.8 billion ₩. 

Jung Ho Seok, whose stage name is J Hope, is a Korean rapper, songwriter, dancer and record producer. In 2013, he debuted as a member of the Korean boy group BTS under Big Hit Entertainment.

J Hope released his first solo mixing tape "Hope World" in 2018. The album received a positive response, and the subsequent debut album won 63rd and 38th places respectively, making him the highest Korean solo artist on the U.S. charts. Billboard 200 at the time. In September 2019, he was released Becky G's single "Chicken Noodle Soup", ranked No. 81 on the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart, making him the first member of BTS to win the Top 100 Singles Chart in his own name.
